Run For Sderot

Avraham Hermon

About Avraham:

I live in the Shomron (Samaria) settlement of Har Bracha with my wife and two kids. I do most of my training around my home, which is located on Mount Grizim, while breathing the fresh air, enjoying the breathtaking views, and taking in the nature around me. The mountain is the biblical mountain which the book of Joshua describes as the mountain of blessing. This region, the region of Shechem (Nablus), is the first location in Israel mentioned in the Bible, in the book of Genesis, as the place where our forefather Abraham entered the land and settled.

The Jerusalem half marathon is a special race for me, as it is the first running competition I have ever participated in, and it is the race which got me "hooked" on running. Since then I have competed in marathons and I am planning to participate in a 60 km run in March.

About Sderot:

"The people of Sderot are heroes. The fact that they keep on living there, despite the danger, shows that they are dedicated to the land. The people of Sderot show the world that the Jewish People returned to the land of Israel and is here to stay! I believe that supporting the Sderot residents shows that we stand behind them and believe in their message that the connection between the people of Israel and the land of Israel is an eternal connection. Supporting the residents of Sderot prevents the Gaza terrorists from achieving their goal of driving the Jewish People from their land."
